Alana Banner

Founder and Owner / Lead Hair and Makeup Artist

Alana is the owner and Founder of A Salon Santa Fe. Born and raised in Santa Fe- Alana has been in fashion, styling, and hair and makeup for over 10 years. Working in LA and Orange county before retuning home to Santa Fe.

Toni and Guy Trained – she brings years of experience behind the chair to A Salon.

Alana wanted to create a luxury hair and makeup team based in the heart of Santa Fe. Specializing in soft glam, effortless beauty and making each clients vision come to life.

Alana founded A Salon Santa Fe in 2020 and loves being able to bring her passion to her work and team everyday

Amy Mulkey

Lead Hair and Makeup Artist

Amy is a Santa Fe native, that grew up loving all the culture and beauty this amazing city has to offer.

During her college years she moved away to Colorado, then to San Diego, California where she studied cosmetology at Paul Mitchell the School. Upon completing her program she moved to Austin, Texas and continued her work in the industry behind the chair. She worked for Milk+Honey, a top salon in Austin for 5 years before moving back home to Santa Fe.

She brings her 10+ years of experience behind the chair into her work with Bridal and event styling and makeup. Her strong will to build meaningful connections with clients helps her listen and understand each client’s desires and create the looks they are striving for.

Ambra Baca

Lead Makeup Artist

Ambra is a professional makeup artist with over 10 years of experience in the industry, working with an amazing team on a variety of projects from fashion shows, photoshoots, weddings and special events.

Ambra has honed her skills and developed a unique style that combines creativity with technical expertise. She is always expanding her skills and staying current with the latest trends and techniques in the industry. Ambra is dedicated to providing personalized service and the highest level of professionalism to each of her clients.

She trained extensively with MAC and has done many other makeup classes, she brings all of her expertise and kindheartedness to each and every bride.

Gina Montoya

Hair and Makeup Artist

Gina Montoya is a native New Mexican who enjoys staying active by engaging in running, hiking and yoga, and by spending time with her two sons.

She has her BFA in Fashion Design and Marketing but wanted to combine her love of design and beauty together. Gina studied makeup in Dallas, TX by getting certified and is self taught doing bridal hair. “I love when a bride looks like herself on the day-of-just a glowing version of herself!”

Gina thinks the most important thing is to help the bride and her bridal party feel beautiful and calm on wedding day!

Hannah McDowell

HMU Assistant / Social Media / Marketing

Hannah McDowell was born in Redding, California where she was a dancer from age 3-21 years old in the Northern California surrounding areas. Competitive and professional dancing ignited a passion and love for all things makeup and hair styling and creating looks for dance performances and events.

Leaving behind a 8 year career of being an artistic director Hannah is very excited to be apprenticing and learning all of the skills and professionalism Alana and her team have to offer. Hannah is very excited to continue to grow in the hair and make up world and help make brides and loved ones feel beautiful during the important and special times in their lives.

This is Hannah’s second season with A Salon Santa Fe.

Alana and her team are simply the best!! They did everything I asked for plus made adjustments with ease if I wanted something different for hair and makeup. She was always on time, always quick to respond and makes you feel SO beautiful. So easy to talk to- always makes you feel comfortable. Can’t recommend a salon enough!!

Nov 1, 2021 I got married in Santa Fe (I’m from Seattle) and had no idea where to begin with selecting who was going to do my hair and makeup. I found Alana on Instagram and loved her style! She did my trial 6 months before my wedding and not only did I feel beautiful, I felt so comfortable hanging out with her! My husband and I loved just chatting with her. On the actual day she was chatting with all my bridesmaids and mom / MIL as she did their hair and makeup with her team and made everyone feel so comfortable. I was sooo stressed that morning and it was so nice having someone there that made us all look beautiful and helped us all relax. 10/10 would recommend Alana and her team 🙂
